A Worship for Women Which Is Better in the Masjid

There is an aspect in the Deen where a woman’s act of worship in the Masjid is better for her than that same act of worship to be performed at her home.

And that is to seek knowledge in the Masjid or in a house where women gather to seek knowledge.

As for the Masjid, Abu Umamah narrated that the Messenger of Allah said:

“Whoever goes to the Masjid, intending to learn or teach something good, he will receive a reward equivalent to the reward of performing Hajj.”

Musnad Al-Shami’yin of Al-Tabarani 423; Sahih

As for the house where women gather to seek knowledge, Abu Sa’eed Al-Khudri said:

A woman came to Allah’s Messenger and said: “O Allah’s Messenger! … Fix a day for us so that we come to you, so that you teach us what Allah taught you. The Prophet said: “Gather on such-and-such date at such-and-such place.” So the women gathered, and the Prophet came to them and taught them what Allah had taught him.

Sahih Al-Bukhari 7310

And in another wording:

“The day you have been appointed [to seek knowledge from me will be taught by me] is in the house of the female so-and-so.”

Musnad Humaydi 1049; Sahih
