Question
Since I can remember, my discharge has always been a variety of colours. It is either clear, white, yellowish or white/yellowish with a hint of green. It smells normal, comes in little quantity and is unpredictable. My doctor told me it’s not infectious and is normal discharge. Other women have also told me it’s normal discharge. Please advise me in what I should regard this as.

Allah informed us that the origin of a woman’s menstrual blood is a dark red color, and it is recognized due to its nature and smell. The Messenger of Allah said: ‘Menstrual blood is dark and recognizable.’ [Nasa’i 215, Sahih]
And Allah informed us that if a woman is able to recognize the dark menstrual discharge and separate it from the white, yellowish, or green discharge, then she should consider that to be her menstrual blood alone, and the rest to be non-menstrual discharges, be it white, yellow, whitish-yellow, green, etc. The Prophet said: ‘Menstrual blood is blood that is black and recognizable, so if it is like that, then stop praying, and if it is otherwise, then perform Wudu’ and pray.’ [Nasa’i 363; Sahih]
